There is a lot of talk in the industry this week about taking Action Steps. Although this seems like a simple concept, it is one which must be consciously put in motion. An action step can be something as small as a simple daily task of answering emails or as large as the daunting task of setting your goals.
The important thing to remember is to TAKE ACTION STEPS EVERY DAY! Did I emphasize that enough? To move toward your goals, you must take actions steps every day. If your not a list person, become one. Make a list of what you want to achieve today. You can even categorize these as TOP PRIORITY – URGENT – NEEDS ATTENTION – let your creative juices flow. But, require yourself to do your Top Priority items first. Then move down your list. Realize you should only have 3 to 5 Top Priority items which will give you time to work on other areas. It is important to create a list of items you can complete. Set your list so you will be successful every day. You should make sure you have the ability to complete your Top Priority Items.
Then – stick to it. Do this day in and day out for a year. Prioritize your daily list. Make sure you get 3 to 5 things finished daily. Wash-Rinse-Repeat! At the end of a year, analyze your progress.
“An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi Cathy,
YES! I am taking daily action steps. I have them up on my whiteboard and I work them every day. I just started this method about 2 weeks ago (instead of working off a large To-Do list), and I have gotten so much more done than I was before that I could just kick myself for not doing it sooner!
Karen
That is Fantastic Karen.
I am glad to hear you are seeing a better results.
(If you need me to kick you later, let me know)
