Creative Block
Have you ever sat down to write a blog post, create a splash page, start and ad campaign and just drawn a complete blank? You could be experiencing a creative block. I came across a cool little video, by @trashlab, which lists 29 Ways to Stay Creative. It’s less than two minutes long – have a look you might get some creative ideas on how to stay creative.
#1 – Make Lists – I am a big list person. If I am working on the simplest task, I make a list to ensure I complete the project in a timely manner. Plus, I am big on positive reinforcement so I feel a sense of accomplishment each time I check something off my list.
#4 & #6 – Get Away From the Computer & Take Breaks – These two go hand in hand to me. Sometimes you need to step away from your work station and think about something else for a bit.
#11, #12, & #13 – Surround Yourself With Creative People, Get
Feedback & Collaborate – These all work hand in hand. I am a big supporter of creating a Mastermind Alliance. As the old saying goes, “Two heads are better than one.”
#17 – Go Somewhere New – This can be physically or mentally. You can take a drive in the car or visit a new blog site. The choice is yours just expand your horizons.
#19 – Get Lots of Rest – I find I am my most creative when I feel refreshed. Your body needs sleep, be sure to allow yourself time to rest.
#20, #21 & #25- Takes Risks, Break the Rules & Stop Trying To Be Some Else’s Perfect – Live up to your own expectations, not those of someone else.
#28 – Have Fun – If you don’t enjoy what you are doing, why are you doing it? Take time to put the “FUN” back in your life.
Pick and choose what works for you or make your own list of ways to get your creative juices flowing. Have Fun!

Great video and great post, Cathy. I think you definitely picked out the best ones. I have been implementing many of those myself and they really do work.
Keep up the good work!
Nina

It is important that every person find what works for them-self.
