If you ask a 100 people what is their “WHY” for working so hard, I would venture to say the majority of the answers would include spending time with family and friends. Yet many times it is our family and friends which get neglected when we are working. I know I am totally guilty of doing that. With the holidays quickly approaching, it is more important than ever you set up a work schedule which includes time for play.
When working from home, it is easy to go to the computer and look up 4 hours later and think “What did I get done today?” Having prioritized daily tasks can help eliminate much wasted time and energy. If you still find yourself glued to the computer while your significant others are out having fun, then by all means set up an hour by hour schedule. Be sure to include in yourschedule “play time” and stick to it.
For many of us, it is just a matter of setting aside time for our loved ones. This week I was especially busy with my family. It is weeks like this which reinforce my “Why”. I love spending time with my family – I just need to remember it doesn’t have to be a special occasion for me to do that.

Advice well taken Cathy! Family time was always a struggle for me, especially when we were heavily involved in the conventional business world. Like a lot of married couples, I think I have finally beginning to see those little signs that mean, it is time for only you and me babe. Kids of course are a different matter. Deb and I were talking about that the other night while watching NCIS. Zeva was interrogating a witness and said that she spent a lot of time up on stage performing and constantly looking out over the audience just to see if her Dad was there. Wow! Sure that was a script in a tv show but it is so true. Great subject Cathy that needed to be talked about, Job Well Done Kiddo!

Thanks Sam,
This subject hits home for me.
very true cathy im always running around doing family stuff as most of you know but yet still at times i feel like im neglecting them but then i remind myself of the hours i was away working my real full time job when i wasnt here at the drop of a hat lol. Always make time for family first family is forever.
It’s always a balancing act. I think you are doing a great job Mo.
Great information Catherine, it’s something I have to keep in mind for sure. In actuality my reason for pursuing online/offline marketing in a business of my own is for that exact reason. I wanted to spend more time with family, and in some cases as I ramp up my home business I end up spending less time with them because I haven’t scheduled my time effectively.
Thanks for the reminder,
Corey
I think we are all guilty of putting our top priority in the background occasionally.
Thanks for stopping by Corey!
